With the development of advertising, ads have been connected with people’s life. Is it good or bad? We had a discussion. Some people think advertisements don’t tell the fact about the products advertised. Also, they take up too much time on TV and the radio, and cover too much space in newspapers and magazines, which waste a lot of paper. What’s worse, there are some false advertisements that cheat people into buying their things. Therefore, they believe advertisements should be stopped.
Some other people think advertisements can help us make better choices about what to buy by offering us the latest information about various goods. Moreover, many well-done advertisements are popular and entertaining, which appeal to the consumers. However, too many advertisements can be annoying. So we should develop advertising properly.
In my opinion, ads is like a two-side sword. Anyway, we can be wise if weare able to distinguish between fiction and fact.

Li Ming and I took part in a wilderness survival program yesterday, which has become an unforgettable experience.
Yesterday morning we wore strong and comfortable shoes,
carried backpacks with the necessities in them and went to the mountain. We climbed a hill. On the top we saw a direction mark, which told us where to go. Down the hill, we came to a river. There were no boats but we had to cross it. Luckily, both of us had learned how to swim. But we shouldn t make our things in the backpacks wet. Seeing a piece of board, I got an idea. We put our backpacks on the board and swam in the water pushing the board. When getting to the other bank, with the compass we found north in which direction we walked half an hour. Finally, we arrived at the campsite. We set up a tent and made a bonfire.
The two of us spent the night in the forest.
We learned to use knowledge gained in classroom training to solve problems. It was quite an experience for both of us, which I ll never forget for the rest of my life.
英语高中作文 篇3
Persistence can help us carve out a way to success. Although the way to success is bumpy and filled with inevitable setbacks, it is persistence that lead us to the destination we are eager to reach. To further demonstrate the importance of being persistent, I would like to take Thomas Edison as a case in point: how could he, one of the greatest inventor throughout the history of mankind who experienced numerous unsuccessful attempts, invent the first electric lamp without persistence?
Accordingly, at no time should we overlook the importance of persistence. when coming across hardships and setbacks , we need to grit our teeth and adhere to the faith that our efforts and persistence will be paid off. “Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.” Samuel Johnson once said.
I began school at seven in accordance with the law in a remote village. Short of funds, the school had only a few classrooms, all poorly constructed. Needless to say, our teachers were few, too. As a pupil I preferred the playground to the classroom and often liked to play tricks on girls, as by hiding insects in their desk drawers. On one occasion, I even grimaced behind the back of our teacher, causing the whole class to break into laughter; however, instead of becoming angry, he merely asked why we were laughing and wondered whether there was anything wrong with him.
On another occasion, I punctured the tires of a car parked inside the school by using something sharppointed, leaving the principal frightened and bewildered after he had noticed that. Such were the happy moments in my life at that school. The happiest moment, to me and to all of my schoolmates, however, was the one when the school was letting out at the last bell of the day and we were rushing home as if we would never be back. Once, on our way home, a bunch of naughty students found a CRIckets' hole and exerted themselves to inject water into it with loud cheers.
The girls were no less frantic than the boys when they were having a good time at such games as jump-rope, hopscotch and battledore and shuttlecock.
